Luke 1:5-25; Matthew 11:11; Matthew 25:23-24
For these 4 weeks before Christmas we are pausing our regular verse-by-verse teaching to lean in and celebrate Jesus in the Christmas season. We are celebrating 4 universally loved topics: hope, peace, joy, and love – and looking at their real significance in light of the gospel.
This week we are talking about Joy – a challenge to “Ignore the urge to practice retail therapy to try to create joy” and a reminder that “Real joy comes from a life lived out on purpose”.
Each week we invited families to bring their kids to church, into our regular worship service and to be a part of our teaching. We believe it is the best way for your kids to grow and develop a relationship with God. To this point we keep our teaching shorter, include applications for kids, and provide the following “family” sheet. We find that debriefing this sheet weekly over ice cream produces meaningful faith conversations.
